ARLINGTON, Texas – The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team ran into one of the hottest teams in Division II in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship, falling 4-0 to 11th-ranked Cameron on Thursday morning.

The Rattlers (11-10) will now wait to see if they qualify for the NCAA Regionals. The announcement for the NCAA Tournament will be Monday, April 24 at 7 p.m. CT.

Juniors
Jake Faryniarz (San Antonio) and
Nicolas Llosa (Lima, Peru), playing number one singles for only the second time this season, took on #15 Tomas Almeida and Thomas Cardona and lost 6-2.

At number three, senior
Sebastian Azcui (La Paz, Bolivia) and sophomore
Daniel Matheu Baldor (Madrid, Spain) partnered for the first time this season and fell by the identical score of 6-2.

In singles play, the Aggies won in straight sets at numbers four, two and one to secure the win. At number three, freshman
Aaron Ben Anton (Remseck, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) was locked in a 5-5 battle in the second set after dropping set one 6-3 when the match finished.

Llosa was leading 5-2 in the second set on court five after falling 6-3 in the first set.

Cameron will face Midwestern State in the semifinals after the Mustangs defeated UT Permian Basin, 4-1. On the other side of the bracket UAFS upset Lubbock Christian 4-3 and top-seeded UT Tyler beat Western New Mexico, 4-0.
