FORT SMITH, Ark. — Some days, coaches and players must tip their caps to a team that is firing on all cylinders and that was the case on Saturday for the St. Mary's University Volleyball team as they fell in three sets to the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, 25-20, 25-13, 25-13.

The Lions (19-5, 9-2 Lone Star) have won three of their last four matches and are a perfect 7-0 at home, while the Rattlers fall to 10-14 on the year and 5-8 in Lone Star Conference play.

Sophomore middle blocker
Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) led the Rattlers with seven kills and two blocks, while senior outside hitter
Lindsey Ogle (Houston) recorded six kills.

Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) led the team with 15 digs, while junior setter
Cali Nims (Corpus Christi, Texas) posted a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs.Â

Caelyn Gunn led the match with 13 kills for the Lions, while libero Paola Fragelle recorded 26 of the team's 47 digs and Nyia Anderson had three of their four aces.

St. Mary's returns to San Antonio, hosting UT Tyler on Friday at 4 p.m. at Trinity's Bell Center and faces DBU on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the NISD Paul Taylor Fieldhouse. The Rattlers close out the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in Bill Greehey Arena against Texas A&M Kingsville.
