DALLAS, Texas – St. Mary's Volleyball Head Coach
Laura Ulrich knew at the beginning of the season with eight freshmen on the roster there would be growing pains. Facing a team loaded with upperclassmen and Division I transfers at DBU on Thursday night was one of those moments.
The Rattlers lost to the Patriots (7-2) in a non-conference matchup, 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 to move to 3-6 on the season.
Freshman
Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) led the team in kills for the fourth-straight match with five and hitting a team-best .176 (5-2-17). She and senior
Sadie Hough (Cleyburne, Texas) also teamed up on the lone block for the Rattlers.
Freshman libero
Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) recorded seven digs to lead the team and freshman setter
Abbey Stiffler (York, Pa.) led the way with seven assists. Both Koehl and freshman
Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) added an ace serve.
The Rattlers remain in Dallas to face UT Permian Basin and UAFS on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. UTPB defeated UAFS in four sets in the first match of the day.
