RICHARDSON, Texas -- Sophomore defender
Andrick Ferrer and the St. Mary's back line continued to shut down opponents, allowing just one shot on goal during a 1-0-1 week. DBU managed just one shot on target in the Rattlers' 2-0 win to open the week, and the defense held Texas A&M International to just one shot in the entire match in a scoreless draw at home.
Opponents have not found the back of the net against StMU's defense in 465 minutes as the Rattlers have run up a five-game shutout streak, marking a new program record for consecutive shutouts.
In the win on the road against the Patriots, Ferrer notched his first assist of the season when he fed freshman
Adam Aboohamidi with a no-look pass in the second half, putting the match out of reach.
It is Ferrer's first weekly honor of his career, and the fifth for the Rattlers this season.Â
