SAN ANTONIO – After winning the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament by virtue of winning the Lone Star Conference Championship, the St. Mary's Women's Tennis Team learned on Tuesday evening they are the top seed in the South Central Region and will host fourth-seeded Midwestern State.
Â
The two teams will play for the second time this year as the Rattlers won a 6-1 decision on April 15. The teams did not meet in the league championship tournament last week as they were on opposite sides of the bracket.
Â
This is the ninth-straight season the Rattlers (20-3) have advanced as they've made it every season since 2013 (except 2020 when there was no championship).
Â
The women are 4-2 against the remainder of the NCAA Field in 2022, going 3-1 against the remainder of South Central Region and 1-1 against the other regions.
Â
St. Mary's and Midwestern State will play at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at the Rohrbach Tennis Stadium on the campus of St. Mary's.Â
