Wilson Tabbed First-Team All-American by D2CCA

POMONA, Calif. – St. Mary's senior Lewis Wilson became the first-ever D2CCA First-Team All-American in St. Mary's Men's Soccer history on Wednesday, while junior Andre Schlaefli earned Third-Team honors.
 
Wilson, from Aberdeen, Scotland is one of two South Central region players on the first team along with fellow defender Shjon Andrews from CSU-Pueblo. Wilson was named both the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the Lone Star Conference and he also earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors earlier in the week.
 
Schlaefli, a junior goalkeeper from Katy, Texas was honored as the Goalkeeper of the Third Team. He ranks second in the nation in save percentage (.875), is tied for the nation's lead in shutouts with 12 and he was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
 
Wilson and Schlaefli are just the third and fourth selections to the D2CCA All-America teams in St. Mary's history as Pato Botello Faz was a second-team pick in 2018 and Ollie Wright was a third-team honoree in 2019.
 
Sports Information Directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences sponsoring men's soccer selected the D2CCA All-America Team. The process begins at the regional level with all First Team All-Region picks advancing to the national ballot. This marks the 16th year that teams have been selected
since the All-America program began in 2006.
