Opening Tip
• St. Mary's kicks off the 2022-23 season at the South Central Regional Crossover, facing Colorado School of Mines on Friday at 6 p.m. and Regis on Saturday at 7 p.m.
• This is the seventh time in the last eight years (2020-21 the exception) the Rattlers have begun the season against the two RMAC teams. In those six years, the Rattlers are 2-4 against the Orediggers and 1-5 against the Rangers.
• The next win for Head Coach Jim Zeleznak will be the 250th in his head basketball coaching career. He ranks third in wins in StMU history, needing 31 for second (Ed Messbarger, 279-139; 1964-78).
• Mamady Djikine, Parker Gettys, Caleb Jordan and Luke Schultz have all opted in for their fifth year of eligibility granted by the NCAA.
• Senior Caleb Jordan enters his fifth year ranked sixth in career history with 129 three-pointers, tied for second with 311 free throws made, fourth in free throw percentage (.841) and eighth with 94 steals.
• The Rattlers made 10 or more free throws in the last 13 games of the 2022 season and ranked fourth in the Lone Star Conference in free throw percentage, shooting .758.
• St. Mary's made at least three three-pointers in every game in 2021-22 and seven times sank 10 or more, including a school-record 16 against Regis and West Texas A&M.
