SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's Volleyball team took care of business on Friday evening, sweeping Western New Mexico 25-15, 25-18, 25-20 to extend its winning streak to four straight matches and six of the last seven.

The Rattlers (10-9, 6-2 Lone Star Conference) had five players tally five or more kills in the win, led by junior
Lindsey Ogle (Houston) and freshman
Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) with nine each. Withers narrowly missed out on a double-double as she added 11 digs to her nine kills.

St. Mary's hit a season-best .297 on the night, recording only eight unforced errors in the three sets. The Gold & Blue also had twice as many service aces as errors, 6 to 3.

Freshman middle blocker
Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) had eight kills without a hitting error for a .571 hitting percentage (8-0-14) and tallied a match-high five blocks. She and junior setter
Aislan Lennon (Houston) each had two aces to tie for the lead.

Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) led the match with 16 kills and she collected 19 receptions without an error.

Alyssa David (Pilot Point, Texas) saw her first action of the season, getting one dig and two attacks. All 18 on the roster have now played this year.Â

Abbey Stiffler (York, Pa.) led the match with 16 assists, while Lennon added 12 and Koehl posted eight.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER & TEAM NOTES
- Freshman Alyssa David played for the first time this season.
- The .297 hitting percentage is the highest for the team in 2022, surpassing the .280 the team hit in the sweep over Cameron.
- All seven players who recorded a kill on the night had at least three in the match, led by Lindsey Ogle and Landri Withers with nine each.
- The four-match winning streak is the longest of the season for the team and the most since the 2021 team won the first six of the year.
- Alyssa Koehl extended her streak to 10-straight matches with double digit digs, leading the match with 16.
