WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The third quarter did in the St. Mary's Women's Basketball team on Saturday afternoon at Midwestern State, falling 79-73.
The Rattlers (1-12, 0-2 Lone Star Conference) were outscored by five in the third stanza, 17-12, for five of the six-point differential in the contest.
Senior forward
Hannah Wilson (Fredericksburg, Texas) returned to her double-double ways, scoring 17 and getting a game-high 11 rebounds, while junior guard
Sydney Hardeman (Allen, Texas) continued her hot shooting from beyond the arc, nailing five three-pointers en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Senior
Christina Baker (Mansfield, Texas) came off the bench to score a season-high 11 on five-of-six shooting from the floor.
Freshman guard Sarai Estupiñan (Cedar Park, Texas) tallied a career-high nine assists, while fellow freshman
Faith Phillips (San Marcos, Texas) missed her career-high by one with nine rebounds.
Both Hannah Reynolds and Morgan Lenahan scored 24 points each to lead the Mustangs (7-5, 2-1 Lone Star), while Reynolds led the team with nine rebounds and Frances King recorded a double-double with 13 points and 16 assists.
The Rattlers out-rebounded MSU 39-to-35 on the day and has now has more boards than eight of the last nine opponents.
The StMU game against Cameron has been postponed until Monday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m., so the next contest for StMU will be Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. against West Texas A&M.

- Freshman guard Sarai Estupiñan recorded a career-high nine assists in the game. It is the most assists for a Rattlers player since senior guard Mya Culiver (Round Rock, Texas) tallied nine against Angelo State on Jan. 23, 2021.
- Hannah Wilson grabbed 11 rebounds in the game, giving her 1,016 for her career. She now needs just five more to break the St. Mary's career rebound record of 1,020 by Kiara Etheridge (2013-2017).
- The Rattlers out-rebounded Midwestern State 39-to-35 and has outrebounded eight of the last nine opponents.
- Christina Baker scored a career-high 11 points, surpassing her previous career-best of seven from Jan. 30, 2020 against Texas Woman's.
- Sydney Hardeman sank five three-pointers and now has made 16 in the last four games and is 31-for-95 on the year.
