TAKING THE PITCH
The No. 24 St. Mary's Rattlers kickoff their season with a Rocky Mountain road trip to play a pair of games against Metro State and Colorado School of Mines. St. Mary's and Metro State will tangle to begin the 2021 campaign in a matchup between teams who have met in each of the last three full NCAA seasons. The season opener is scheduled for 7 P.M.
The Rattlers come in ranked No. 24 in the NCAA DII Preseason Poll and picked to finish third in the vaunted Lone Star Conference. Led by a host of veterans, the Rattlers are poised to once again make another run at a conference title and an NCAA tournament berth.
RATTLER STORYLINES
-The Rattlers have the reigning Preseason Defensive Player of the Year in the Lone Star Conference in the form of Liam Morrison. Liam has made a name for himself as a stingy defender and leader on the pitch.
-The Rattlers look to reclaim their Lone Star Conference title after winning the league in 2019, the last time that there was a full NCAA season.
-The Rattlers are 3-0 all-time against MSU Denver, including a 3-1 victory at Sigma Beta Chi Field in 2019.
SCOUTING METRO STATE

- Adan Perez was named to the All-RMAC honorable mention in voting by the RMAC coaches last season.
- Picked to finish seventh in the RMAC, the Roadrunners return eight starters and two letter winners. They also have a recruiting class that includes five transfers.
