Women's Golf Trio Named All-American
SAN ANTONIO – Three St. Mary's Women's Golfers were honored Tuesday by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on the Division II All-American team.
Senior transfer
Monica Dibildox (Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico) was named to the Second-Team, while sophomore
Estelle Beck (Lakeway, Texas) and senior
Sofia Ruescas (San Sebastian de los Reyes, Spain) were both honorable mention selections.
Dibildox, who spent four seasons at LSU, averaged the 19
th best per round average in NCAA Division II in 2021 at 74.88 strokes per round. She finished in the top five at five different tournaments throughout her senior campaign, including a fourth-place finish at the NCAA West Regional. She also placed in a tie for 13
th at the NCAA Championships.
Beck broke through with back-to-back top-10 finishes at the end of the season, placing sixth at the NCAA West Regional with a four-over par 220 and ending in eighth at the NCAA Championship with a five-over par 221. She saved her best round of the year for last, ending day three with a 70 (-2).
Ruescas was the individual champion at the NCAA West Regional and is a two-time WGCA All-Region selection. She tied for 29
th at the NCAA Championship and this is her first WGCA All-American honor. The victory at the West Region Championship was her fourth top-10 finish of 2021 and she averaged 76 strokes per round in her final season with the Rattlers.
All three Rattlers ended the season ranked among the top 30 in the West Region in total scoring statistics as StMU finished the year tied for third at the medal rounds of the NCAA Championship.
