SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's Men's Soccer program earned its third Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honor of the season.
Alonso Rodriguez was named the Offensive Player of the Week for his two-goal performance in a win over Lubbock Christian.
Rodriguez led No. 16 St. Mary's to a comeback victory on the road over Lubbock Christian on Tuesday with his first brace as a Rattler. Rodriguez struck first, scoring the first goal of the match in the 10th minute to give the StMU a 1-0 lead.
Following a pair of LCU goals inside of two minutes to close the first half, the Rattlers trailed 2-1.
The Rattlers found the equalizer in the 87th minute the game-winner, and with just 34 seconds left in the match, the junior rocketed in a header from an StMU corner to secure the victory. Rodriguez took just two shots on goal, both found the back of the net for four points.
