SAN ANTONIO – Long rallies kept the fans on the edges of their seat throughout the match, but the St. Mary's Volleyball team was unable to carry the momentum throughout, falling in straight sets to St. Edward's 25-17, 25-20, 25-23 on Tuesday evening.

Aislan Lennon (Houston) recorded her sixth double-double in eight matches for the Rattlers (2-6, 2-6 Lone Star Conference) with 17 assists and 12 digs, while senior libero
Catherine Cruz (San Antonio) led the team with 13 digs. Freshman right-side hitter
Mia Martinez (Orlando, Fla.) led the team with eight kills and freshman defensive specialist
Nadia Manitzas (San Antonio) tied for match-high honors with two aces.
St. Edward's (3-5, 3-5 Lone Star) has now won six-straight matches over the Rattlers and has closed within six in the all-time series, 62-56.
It is the first time in 2021 the Rattlers have lost a match in straight sets. StMU is now 1-1 in three sets after defeating Texas A&M International on Jan. 27.
The two teams will celebrate Senior Day in the fourth and final matchup of the year on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the seniors on both teams will be honored prior to the start.
