SAN ANTONIO – After winning their first six matches of the season, the St. Mary's Men's Tennis team dropped its second match in as many days on Saturday. The Rattlers faced their second straight NCAA Division I opponent in the University of New Orleans. The Privateers handled the Rattlers by a score of 6-1 at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
The doubles tandem of
Nicolas Llosa and
Leon Hein got things going for the Rattlers, winning 6-2 at the No. 3 doubles line. UNO evened things in doubles competition as they took a 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot.
Saisaurav Konakanchi and
Jake Faryniarz won a hard-fought battle at No. 2 doubles, 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for St. Mary's.
The Privateers controlled all six singles matches, winning them all in straight sets except for No. 4 where the Rattlers'
Ryan Koth took his opponent to a third set before falling.
The Rattlers will return to action on March 20 as they travel to Abilene, Texas to take on McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
