SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's Women's Tennis squad took to the court today for a non-conference matchup with NCAA Division I opponent, Air Force. The Rattlers fell to 6-3 on the year with a 5-2 loss to the Falcons at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
St. Mary's fell behind 1-0 when the Falcons clinched the doubles points with a win at the No. 1 and No. 2 lines.
Abigail Csengery and Elena Munoz picked up a 6-4 doubles victory at the No. 2 spot.
Ashley Penshorn evened things up at one point apiece as she handled her Air Force opponent at the No. 1 singles line, winning 6-1, 6-2.
With wins at No. 2, 5, and 6, Air Force clinched the match.
The Rattlers other victory came at No. 4 singles as
Gabi Ioannou defeated her opponent, 6-4, 7-5.
St. Mary's will return to action on March 20 as they travel to Abilene, Texas to take on McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
