TAKING THE PITCH
The St. Mary's Rattlers play at home for the final time in the regular season against Texas A&M International on Senior Day. The Rattlers will honor a class of nine seniors who have taken the program to new heights, including a 2019 Lone Star Conference championship and an NCAA Tournament run.
The Rattlers will also be focused on finishing their regular season on a positive note. After dropping three in a row, the Rattlers need one final win to secure a host-bid for the first round of the LSC playoffs. With a win, St. Mary's would host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday evening.
Texas A&M International in clinging to the sixth and final seed in the standings as they come into play. The Dustdevils need a win to lock up a postseason berth. The Dustdevils own tiebreakers over UT-Tyler and DBU, meaning that they could potentially jump as high as the fourth seed with a win on Saturday.
RATTLER STORYLINES
- The class of nine seniors will be honored pregame with a ceremony that includes family and friends. All are welcome to attend and support the Rattlers in their final home match of the season.
- With a win, the Rattlers can lock up a 7-3 home record for the year.
- Alonso Rodriguez is 10th in the conference in total points with 13.
SCOUTING A&M INTERNATIONAL
- The Dustdevils are coming off of a win over UT-Tyler, 2-0. Prior to that, they had dropped back-to-back contests against Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian.
- The Dustdevils are only 2-4 away from their friendly confines this year.
- Kristian Colaci leads the Dustdevils in points with 26 in 2021.
