St. Mary's dropped Saturday's game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 88-73. The Rattlers (1-2) competed hard against their division I opponent, but ultimately couldn't threaten the Islanders down the stretch.
The Rattlers trailed by 11 at the half, but narrowed the scoring margin in the final 20 minutes to take some positive momentum back to San Antonio. The Rattlers were only outscored in the second half by four (47-43).
Caleb Jordan and C.J. Washington each scored 17 points in the loss, leading the team. Jordan was 5-12 shooting while Washington was 6-12. Kobe Magee and Emmanuel Ewuzie co-led the team with six rebounds each.

"I thought our guys competed really well against a division I opponent. They have a really great opportunity to win their conference and our guys tested them. It was a tremendous learning experience and we will take a lot of positives away from this.
