TAKING THE PITCH
The St. Mary's Rattlers head to Wichita Falls for a crucial conference match against No. 7 Midwestern State. The Rattlers and Mustangs are tied for first in the Lone Star Conference standings with just a few games remaining. Both teams are undefeated through four games of conference play and are powered by electric offenses. The Mustangs only loss this season came to West Texas A&M when the Buffs were ranked #5 in the country. The Rattlers, who are on a seven game winning streak, beat WT twice in the span of two weeks.

The importance of this game can't be overstated. The winner takes a three point lead in the conference and owns an all-important tie breaker with just three games left. The regular season LSC champion will earn the right to host the four team tournament that begins in early November.

RATTLER STORYLINES

- The seven game winning streak for St. Mary's is the longest since 2019 when StMU reeled off nine consecutive victories.
- StMU puts constant pressure on their opponents, leading the conference in shots (233) and corner kicks (81).
- Alonso Rodriguez leads the way for St. Mary's with five goals this year.

SCOUTING #7 MIDWESTERN STATE

- Trevor Amann leads the league in goals scored with 11 through 13 games. Amann scored on Saturday in the victory over TAMIU.
- The Mustangs lead the league in all major offensive categories. MSU is averaging over three goals per game.
- Defensively, the Mustangs are also the stingiest team in the LSC, allowing less than a goal per game to their opponents.
