On a cloudy day at Sigma Beta Chi Field, the Rattlers played a complete game from start to finish to earn a 3-1 win over Texas A&M International.Ā The Rattlers started the scoring on a penalty kick from Megan Copeland that bent into the left corner of the net, freezing the goalkeeper to gain a 1-0 lead.Ā TheĀ DustdevilsĀ answered back with a goal of their own in the 32ndĀ minute, tying the game.
The Rattlers took control from there and never let up. Miranda Narvaez took the ball at the start of the second half from midfield into the box, nailing a goal into the top right corner out of the goalkeeper's reachĀ in the 46thĀ minute. In the 84thĀ minute, Alexis Lawrence received a cross from a corner kick, and headed it in through a group of defenders.Ā The Ratters dominated in all aspects of the game leading to a win and a 6-4-1 record.Ā Ā

"We definitely played hard. TAMIUĀ is a better team than their record shows. TheyĀ are veryĀ well-coached. To get an early goal really helped and got us off to a good start. The creativity in the second half really helped us get the ball forward faster. It was an overall great team win."
