TAKING THE PITCH
Your St. Mary's Rattlers are back on the road, this time traveling north to Dallas for their Lone Star Conference opener against the DBU Patriots. The Rattlers have won their last three contests, but saw their last loss come at the hands of a Patriots' golden goal on September 25th. St. Mary's will look to return the favor on the Patriots' home turf and extend their streak to four.
For the Patriots, they have dropped back-to-back contests to TAMIU after previously putting together their own three-game winning streak. DBU scored seven goals in a three-game stretch, but failed to tally a single goal in 180 minutes against the Dustdevils.
RATTLER STORYLINES
- St. Mary's is 26-7 all-time against the Patriots, but will look to shake off their OT loss to the Patriots just a few weeks ago.
- The Rattlers have scored eight goals in their last three contests, including a 2-0 shutout against UTPB last time out.
- Tony Andoyan and Andre Schlaefli were nominated for conference players of the week for their efforts against UTPB.
SCOUTING DBU
- The Patriots gave the Rattlers everything they wanted on the defensive end in September, but have shown recent susceptibility to a quick and physical attack.
- DBU is registering shots on goal at a 40.9% clip. They are allowing SOG at a 43% mark, however.
- Goalkeeper Alexander Knepper was Keeper of the Week in the Lone Star Conference on September 28th.
