TAKING THE PITCH
St. Mary's returns home to Sigma Beta Chi Field to host No. 3 West Texas A&M on Saturday night. The Rattlers are coming off of a dominate 3-0 win over TAMIU, while West Texas A&M has yet to drop a contest. The Buffs last beat Oklahoma Christian, 2-1 in OT, on Wednesday night.

For the Rattlers, they flexed their offensive muscles on Wednesday night in Laredo. StMU recorded three goals against the Dustdevils in a physical game. Despite the grit that TAMIU showed, the Rattlers were clinical in the final third, leading to an overwhelming offensive showing.

West Texas A&M, meanwhile, is off to their best start in program history. The third-ranked team in the country is 7-0-0 for the first time ever thanks to a golden goal in the 92nd minute on Wednesday night. The Eagles of Oklahoma Christian pushed the Buffs to the edge, but Sean Ryan claimed victory with his game winner from just in front of the net.

SCOUTING WEST TEXAS A&M

- The Buffs also have a lockdown defense, allowing just 26 shots on goal through seven games. Conversely, the Buffs have registered 62.
