Women's Tennis Gets Dominant 6-1 Win Over No. 16 St. Edward's to Stay Perfect on Season
SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team swept the singles matches against rival St. Edward's at Blossom NEISD Tennis Center on Saturday to stay a perfect 3-0 in the spring season.
"We did a great job competing on every single court today," said Director of Tennis
Bill Macom. "We gave up some leads, but were able to hang on for a great win."
The Rattlers lost just just four sets in singles play, with
Marina Vigil and
Maria Garcia both winning in two sets.
Charli Delmonico and
Abigail Csengery won their doubles match, 7-5, but the other two pairs fell just short, resulting in a 6-1 final score for the team.
The Rattlers will stay in San Antonio next weekend for the San Antonio Intercollegiate Tennis Championships at the NISD Tennis Center Mar. 13-15.
