Duo Earns All-Conference Nods

FRISCO, Texas – In the first year of the Lone Star Conference, the St. Mary's Women's Basketball team had two players honored on the all-conference teams after finishing in eighth place.

Juniors Soteria Banks (Round Rock, Texas) and Hannah Wilson (Fredericksburg, Texas) were named to the first and third teams, respectively in a vote by the coaches.
Banks was one of eight selections to the First Team after finishing the regular season ranked fourth in scoring, eighth in field goal percentage, fourth in three-point field goal percentage and seventh in triples per game. She averages 17.2 points per game and has scored 20 or more points 10 times in 2019-20. She is shooting 41.2 percent from the floor, 37.2 percent from beyond the arc and averages 2.1 three's a contest.

Wilson, the only player in the Lone Star to average a double-double during the season with 10.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game and was honored on the Third Team for her efforts. Earlier this season Wilson broke the St. Mary's single game record with 24 rebounds against Western New Mexico on Feb. 13 – a total that ranks fifth in NCAA Division II this year. Wilson leads the team with a 52 percent field goal percentage and her 34 blocked shots are the eighth-most in StMU single-season history.

Banks, Wilson and the rest of the Rattlers play Texas A&M-Commerce – the top seed – in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship at 6 p.m. Thursday.
