Men's Basketball Falls 91-66 to DBU Despite Second Half Improvement
SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Men's Basketball lost to Dallas Baptist University at home, 91-66 on Thursday despite nearly doubling their scoring output from the first to second half.

Markques Houston with 13 and
Caleb Jordan with 11. Houston led the team in rebounds with seven.Â
St. Mary's struggled to score in the early going, with DBU jumping out to a double-digit lead, 17-7, after eight minutes of play. The deficit grew from there, reaching as many as 26, before
Jaron Presley hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds of the half to bring it down to 23, 47-24, at halftime.Â
The Rattlers came out of the break with more energy and rattled of a 9-0 run early in the second half, including seven from Houston. The hot streak cooled off a bit, but then in the second part of the half the team went on another run, this time 8-0, to bring them within 19 with 5:30 to go. The Rattlers attacked the paint and were able to make their free throws to cut into the deficit.
