Men's Soccer Earns Draw Against Fort Lewis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rattlers took 21 shots against Fort Lewis College on Sunday afternoon but could not manage to find the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 draw with the Skyhawks. The draw moves St. Mary's record to 2-1-1 on the season while Fort Lewis remains undefeated at 2-0-2. 
 
This is the second straight meeting between the squads that has ended in a draw.
 
Marlon Flores Flores put the first shot on goal for the Rattlers in the 18thminute but the Skyhawk keeper was able to corral the attempt. St. Mary's finished the first half with seven shots. 
 
The Rattler attack put the pressure on Fort Lewis in the second half as they took 10 shots but the Skyhawk defense held strong not allowing a goal and forcing the game into overtime. 
 
St. Mary's goalkeeper Jacob Sayle saw five shots in his direction and made five saves to keep the Rattlers in the match. 
 
Alain Peralt and Flores Flores each put two shots on goal for the Rattlers while for others had a shot on goal. 
 
The Rattlers will return to the pitch next Saturday as they take on Midwestern State University at Sigma Beta Chi Field at 5 p.m.
