Volleyball Hits the Road Again for Texas A&M-Kingsville Tournament

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Volleyball remains on the road this week as they participate in the Texas A&M-Kingsville Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Rattlers take on Kingsville and Westminster College on Thursday, Southwest Baptist on Friday, then Edinboro and Augustana on Saturday.Â
ST MARY'S
- The Rattlers opened the season last weekend at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic, where they went 2-1, including two sweeps over Tuskegee and Southern Arkansas. St. Mary's narrowly lost the tournament opener to the host, West Texas A&M, in a five-set match.Â
- Senior setter
Bree Perry was selected as a Notable Performance by the Lone Star Conference for her efforts in the opening weekend, which included 117 assists and zero ball handling errors.Â
- Sophomore outside hitter
Alissa Tolbert led the team in kills last week with 34, reaching double figures in each of the three matches. She also led the team in digs with 29, reaching 13 in each of the first two matches.Â

KK Payne and
Jasmine Sims added to the offense with 27 and 23 kills, respectively, while also combining for six blocks. Payne also added 21 digs on the defensive side.
- Middle blocker
Rachel McDonald led the team in blocks with nine in the opening weekend and
Savannah Alcazar added six more to protect the net for the Rattlers.Â
