HORSESHOE BAY, Texas — Sofia Ruescas shot 1-under 71 in Tuesday's final round of the Heartland Conference Championships, tying for third place individually while helping the Rattlers hang on to third place in the team standings.
 
Ruescas, who shot 218 over the three rounds, helped St. Mary's stave off a late  push from St. Edward's, who finished four strokes behind the Rattlers' team total of 902.
 
DBU won the team championship (874), while Ann Parmerter of DBU shot 212 (4-under-par) to capture the individual crown.
 
Maria Regina Gonzalez remained in the top 10 following a final-round 74, placing seventh at 221. Paige Weiss tied for 11th (227), while Haleigh Jordan tied for 24th (236) and Megan Sells was 35th (248) to round out the Snakes' lineup.
 
Despite the windy conditions, the Rattlers shaved a stroke off Monday's total, finishing the final round with a team stroke total of 303.
 
St. Mary's will now turn its attention to the NCAA Regional Championship, held May 6-8 in Amarillo, Texas.
