SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Men's Soccer and Lubbock Christian were unable to score the golden goal in overtime, ending the match in a 1-1 draw, and extending the Rattlers' unbeaten streak to ten.
The Rattlers fired off 10 shots in the first half, but could not find the back of the net, entering the break tied at 0-0.
Martin Ibarreche eventually got the Rattlers on the scoreboard on an assist from
Luis Sanchez in the 60th minute for his third score of the season. The Chaps then turned just their second shot on goal into a score in the 74th minute, tying things up again at 1-1. The Rattlers had a shot on goal in overtime that would have won the match, but it was cleared off the goal line at the last second by a LCU defender to preserve the 1-1 score line.Â
St. Mary's remains in first place in the Lone Star Conference with a 7-1-1 record and will host its final match of the regular season on Nov. 7 against UT-Tyler. Links for live stats and streaming can be found on the schedule page.Â
