Maldonado, Rattlers emphatically take Halo Cup

SAN ANTONIO — Two goals and three assists from Alexia Maldonado propelled St. Mary's to victory over cross-town foe Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday afternoon in the annual Halo Cup.
 
The Rattlers (2-3-2) ended a four-match scoreless streak in convincing fashion producing seven goals against the Saints.
 
In addition to Maldonado, Gabby Olsen and Morgan Cave found the back of the net twice.
 
Maldonado finished the match with two goals and three assists as Cave added a pair of assists to her stat line.
 
For head coach Corwyn Ritch, the win marked his 150th victory, the most in St. Mary's Women's Soccer history.
 
On Thursday, the Rattlers will travel to Lubbock Christian to face the Lady Chaps, seeking their first conference victory.
