Baseball drops final 2 against St. Edward's

SAN ANTONIO — St. Edward's took the "Battle of the Saints" series over St. Mary's with a pair of victories in Saturday's final day of action.
 
The Hilltoppers won 10-4 and 21-11 in a pair of high-scoring, offensive showdowns at Dickson Stadium.
 
The Rattlers (25-13) stranded 24 runners over the two games. Compounding matters, the Snakes walked a combined 25 batters over the two defeats.
 
James Davison led the Rattlers with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate in Game 1, and totaled four RBIs on the day. Mario Vela went 3 for 6 in the nightcap, while Jacob Aguilar, Andrew Perez and Nick Galaviz also recorded a multi-hit outing in the game.
 
The Rattlers will travel to Fort Smith, Arkansas for a four-game series against UAFS starting Friday.
