LAREDO, Texas — St. Mary's ended its road trip with a sweep of Texas A&M International on Wednesday.

The Rattlers opened the day with an 8-1 victory that was highlighted by a six-run seventh inning.

A solo blast from Hannah Michel opened the scoring in the fourth inning before Staci Johns connected on an RBI double down the right field line an inning later.

Following an RBI single from Alessandra Ortiz, a pinch-hit home run from Amber Gonzales put the game out of reach.

In addition to going 2-for-3 at the plate, Johns tossed a complete game, striking out nine without allowing an earned run.

Game 2 was more of the same as the Rattlers topped the Dustdevils 4-1.

Brenda Iparraguirre started the scoring in the third inning with a two-RBI single while Taylor Germain posted a pair of hits and scored a run.

Abigale Carney capped the day with her second multi-hit game as she went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Hope Russell pitched a complete game allowing only four hits and one run as she recorded five strikeouts.

On Friday, the Rattlers will return home for an anticipated matchup with Lubbock Christian.
