Baseball drops pair to Eagles

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — The final two games of the week's four-game set against Oklahoma Christian ended with a pair of losses for the St. Mary's Rattlers on Friday.
 
In Game 1, the Rattlers fell 3-2, dropping the game in walk-off fashion. The game began with an RBI single from Jacob Aguilar. Two-unanswered runs by the Eagles set the stage for a game-tying sac fly by Angel Vega in the sixth.
 
Then in the bottom of the seventh, a pinch hit, RBI single from Julien Ly closed the door on the Rattlers.
 
A back-and-forth affair in the nightcap ended with the same result for the Rattlers as they fell 7-5.
 
Opening the game with three-straight runs, highlighted by a pair of RBI singles from Aguilar, the Rattlers seemed to be on their way to a series tying victory.
 
The Eagles would then strike for five straight runs before Aguilar would crush a two-run homer to left center field.
 
A two-run sixth inning by OC dropped the Rattlers' conference record to 4-4 as the Eagles took the series win.
 
Next Friday, the Rattlers will return home to host Lubbock Christian beginning with a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
