Softball drops pair to Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — St. Mary's wrapped up its most recent road trip with a doubleheader against Tarleton State on Tuesday.
 
The Rattlers fell to the TexAnns in Game 1, 4-0 before a walk-off in the nightcap derailed them.
 
In the opening game, the Rattlers were held to only one hit as Raynelle Nash was able to get on base.
 
However, in Game 2 the Rattlers would fight back, tying the game on two separate occasions.
 
Trailing by one, Abigale Carney blasted a homer to right center field in the second inning. Then, trailing by two in the fourth inning, a pair of RBI singles from Marcela Vasquez and Alessandra Ortiz tied the game once again.
 
A walk-off single in the seventh ended the Rattlers' hopes of ending their roadtrip on a high-note.
 
St. Mary's now gets set to resume conference play against Texas A&M International on Friday beginning with a doubleheader set to start at 3 p.m.
