LAREDO, Texas — Rattler Women's Soccer began Heartland Conference play with an exciting 4-3 victory over Texas A&M International late Tuesday night.

In the 85th minute, with the match tied at 3-3, Rachel Gurinsky capitalized with the game-winning goal off an assist from fellow senior Kaitlyn Judge.

The Rattlers outshot the Dustdevils 17-13, placing seven more shots on goal.

After trading goals early in the first half, the Rattlers would strike for back-to-back scores, beginning with a goal from Morgan Cave that was assisted by Alexia Maldonado.

Pacing the Rattlers offensively through the first two matches of the season, Heather Dawson netted her third goal of the year in the 48th minute to give the Snakes a 3-1 lead.

Five minutes later, the Dustdevils would strike for two goals of their own, setting the stage for Gurinsky's winner.

Up next for Women's Soccer will be a match at Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday at 7 p.m. before returning San Antonio on Sunday for the home opener.
