Volleyball ends road trip with defeat to TAMUK

KINGSVILLE, Texas — Texas A&M-Kingsville pulled away from St. Mary's Volleyball over the final two sets Tuesday, prevailing 3-1 at the Steinke Center.

The Rattlers (3-6) overcame a first-set defeat with a roaring 25-17 victory in the second set, but the Javelinas responded with victories of 25-16, 25-17 over the final two games.

Channing Hankins led the Rattlers with 11 kills, while Mandee Eberle added eight to go along with 11 digs. MacKenzie Harless was strong around the net, recording a team-high six blocks. Monica Ramon led the Snakes with 13 digs, while Lindsey Kaufman and Bree Perry recorded 15 and 14 assists, respectively.

St. Mary's produced just 19 errors but was outhit .217-.116 in the match.

The match concluded the Rattlers' nine-game road stretch to start the season. They'll return to the court Tuesday when they make their home debut for the season against Our Lady of the Lake at 6 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.

Prior to the match, St. Mary's Athletics will hold Gold Rush Dodgeball from 4-6 p.m. in the Auxiliary Courts inside the Alumni Athletics Convocation Center. Click here for more information or to register a team.
