St. Mary's was right on pace with No. 5 WTAMU, posting eight shots to its nine, four of which were shot on goal. The Buffs (6-1) had three shots on goal for the game to give keeper Patrick Kasperitis (RS-Sr., Corpus Christi, Texas) two saves in the loss.

Twelve minutes into the game the Rattlers' had two gut-wrenching chances to score as Ryan Hoskins (Fr., San Antonio) and Roger Trevino (RS-Jr., San Antonio) struck at close range just seconds apart but the Buffs' keeper was able to deny both.

Armando Macias (So., San Antonio) created another heart-stopping moment as he performed a well-placed bicycle-kick that was just above the bar at the 37-minute mark.
