Men's Soccer heavily outshoots, but can't outscore, DBU

DALLAS — St. Mary's Alexis Santamaria found the back of the net late Saturday, but it wasn't enough as the Rattles fell to Dallas Baptist 3-1 on the road.
 
St. Mary's fired off 32 shots, outshooting the Patriots by 17, with 11 shots on goal. 
 
DBU scored two first-half goals to take a 2-0 lead into halftime and punched in another before Santamaria was able to prevent the shutout in the 86th minute. Assisted by Jack Wolf, Santamaria scored for the fourth time this season when he connected in the left corner.
 
Goalkeeper Patrick Kasperitis recorded five saves for St. Mary's.  
 
The Rattlers dropped to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in Heartland Conference play, while Dallas Baptist improved to 4-7 and 2-2.
