Mike Erwin

Mike Erwin joined the St. Mary's Women's Soccer staff in spring, 2019, and has helped build momentum that has the Rattlers poised to make a lot of noise on the national level after reaching the First Round of the NCAA Tournament each of the last two years. Erwin, along with Head Coach Kevin Driggs saw the 2023 team reach the finals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament title for the first time.

Erwin also works with the Boerne Soccer Club staff in his off time.

He joined the StMU family from Albuquerque, where he was the U13-14 Girls Director of Rio Rapids Soccer Club. He was responsible for the implementation of the Rio Rapids curriculum and development of the under 13 and 14 girls in the club, as well as coaches a U11G and a U14G team in the club.

Erwin is a native New Mexican and is an enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. He grew up playing in Albuquerque club soccer including Rio Vista FC (now Rio Rapids), played collegiately at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Phoenix, Arizona and semi-professionally for both the Albuquerque Asylum and the Banat Storm.
 
He received his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of New Mexico. He holds his USSF “B” license and his USSF National Youth license.  Erwin enjoys fishing, golfing, playing soccer, and hanging out with his wife, son and dogs in his free time. He is an ardent Liverpool F.C. supporter and also enjoys watching Major League Fishing.

Erwin and wife Liana welcomed a son, Bodhi, in 2024, and the trio, along with their two dogs, reside in San Antonio.
