SAN ANTONIO — For the first time in school history, three St. Mary's University Women's Basketball players have earned Academic All-District Honors by the CSC. The teams were announced Tuesday.
Junior
Imani Ivery (Houston), sophomore
Andrea Montesinos (Valencia, Spain), and senior
Stina Svilberg (Tallinn, Estonia) were all named to the team for the first time in their careers.
Ivery is working toward a bachelor's degree in marketing, and she finished second on the team in scoring with 9.2 points per game. She also averaged 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game in her first year with the Rattlers.
Montesinos played in all 28 games, starting in 10. She averaged 4.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and had a 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in exercise & sport science.
Svilberg is wrapping up her degree in Psychology after playing in all 28 games and starting in 11 this season. She averaged 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
All three were honored on the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll during the fall semester. They join Natalie Gamez (2007-08), Haley Richter (2015-16) and
Teanna Huggins (2023-24) as the only CSC Academic All-District selections in school history.
The honor evaluates a player's contributions on and off the field. To qualify, a player must maintain a 3.50 GPA and be a starter or key reserve player.
Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. The all-time list of 42,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science and the arts. Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. Teams are announced year-round and amplified by CSC member colleges, universities, and conferences on a wide local, regional, national, and even international scope.
