INDIANAPOLIS — On January 16, 2026, St. Mary's University Executive Director of Athletics
Robert Coleman will represent the Lone Star Conference as one of six new members on the NCAA Division II Executive Board through January 2030.

Robert Coleman represent our 18 member institutions on the NCAA Division II Management Council," LSC Commissioner Jay Poerner said. "He will be a great addition to the committee and continue to advocate for the success of our outstanding student-athletes."
Members of the Management Council are recommended and appointed by their conferences to ensure broad representation of Division II institutions and help manage the division's operations, recommend and implement policies, and ensure that programs align with the division's strategic priorities and membership needs.
"I'm honored to be asked to serve on the Management Council representing St. Mary's University and the Lone Star Conference," Coleman said. "In the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics, this is a pivotal period for Division II, and I look forward to the responsibility of serving the membership and supporting the experiences of all student-athletes."
The 2025-26 season is Coleman's 36th in athletic administration, and his eighth at the helm of the St. Mary's department of athletics. He is the chair of the Lone Star Athletic Administrators, a member of the D2 ADA Board of Directors, and a member of the D2 South Central Region Baseball RAC Committee. Since joining St. Mary's, Coleman has also served on the Division II Men's Golf South Central RAC Committee (2020-2023), the D2ADA/Division II Mentoring Program (2022-2023) and the Vice Chair for the Lone Star Conference's Athletic Administrators (2023-2025).
Prior to his tenure with the Rattlers, Coleman has also spent time with the NCAA Division III Financial Aid Committee (2012-16), where he was nominated chair of the National Committee in 2015-16; the Division III Interpretation and Legislation Committee (2004-08) where he was also the National Committee chair in 2007-08, and the Division III Men's Basketball Committee (1998-01) where he was chairman of the Atlantic Region as well as chair of the National Committee during the 2000-01 season.
