SAN ANTONIO – Despite all five starters scoring in double figures, the St. Mary's Women's Basketball team couldn't complete the comeback against Cameron on Monday afternoon, dropping a hard-fought battle 88-80.

Faith Phillips (San Marcos, Texas) scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Rattlers (2-16, 1-6 Lone Star Conference), while senior guard
Mya Culiver (Rockwall, Texas) added a season-high 14, junior
Briley Perkins (Houston) scored a season-high 13, junior
Sydney Hardeman (Allen, Texas) chipped in 12 and senior forward
Hannah Wilson tallied her 13th double-double of the year with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Perkins posted a career-best five assists and sophomore
Bella Hughes (Argyle, Texas) added a career-best four as the Rattlers amassed 18 assists on 28 baskets, including a perfect eight assists on eight baskets in the first half. All seven players who saw action in at least 10 minutes recorded at least one rebound, five points and one assist.

The Rattlers scored more points in the third quarter than they did in the first two quarters combined, outscoring CU 30-26 and they posted one more point than the Aggies in the fourth quarter, 23-22, but it wasn't enough as CU scored 40 and StMU only 27 in the first half.

Maighan Hedge led the Aggies with 19 points and seven assists, while both Kori Allensworth and Stephanie Peterson tallied 17 and Whitney Outon added 12.

The 80 points by the Rattlers is the most they've scored this season and the highest output since they tallied 84 in the win over the Aggies on March 3, 2020 in the First Round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.

In the second half, the Gold and Blue did a much better job of working the ball inside, as they had 28 points in the paint and 16 second chance points, compared to just six and seven, respectively in the first half.

St. Mary's travels to Laredo for a rematch with Texas A&M International on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before heading to league-leading Texas A&M Kingsville on Saturday.

- Hannah Wilson tallied her 13th double-double of the year and the 42nd of her career with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- All five starters scored in double figures for the first time in 2022. Freshman Faith Phillips scored a career-high 16, while both Briley Perkins (13) and Mya Culiver (14) scored season-highs.
- The 80 points by the Rattlers is the highest total they've scored since the opening round of the 2020 Lone Star Tournament when they scored 84 in a win over Cameron.
