St. Mary's earned its first-ever win over Laredo Community College, and it all came down to Roberto Rodriguez's singles match with the overall match tied 4-4. Rodriguez, a spring transfer playing in his first tournament for the Rattlers, handled the pressure with poise, edging his opponent 7-6, 7-6 to help StMU earn the historic victory. Rodriguez was also triumphant in doubles play, teaming with his partner to win 8-5.
