Jones spent one year each at Neosho CC and New Mexico JC, playing for Luke Mackay at both institutions... He was a First-Team All-Conference pick as a freshman, as well as the school's freshman and male athlete of the year after draining 109 three-pointers in one season… As a sophomore, he averaged 13.0 points per game and shot 82.5 percent from the free throw line… He nailed seven three-pointers in one contest, scoring a career-best 27 points.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated in 2020 from South Granville HS in Durham, N.C… Scored 797 points in only 43 games in High School… Scored a career-best 49 in a triple-overtime win against Vance County… Missed the majority of his junior season recovering from injuries sustained in a car crash… For his career, averaged 18.5 points per game… He grabbed 153 rebounds and 53 steals and finished with 138 assists and three blocks.
