Garrett Brooks, a senior from St. Mary's University, earned his first Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week honor in almost two years, receiving the award on Tuesday, Feb. 3, the league announced.
Brooks, who started at first base twice and right field once, hit. 444 with four home runs and 12 RBI to fuel a three-game road sweep of Sul Ross State. Brooks had multiple hits and at least one homer in each game. He had a grand slam and drove in six runs on Opening Day. Over the series, he scored eight runs, walked once and played errorless defense. Brooks also increased his on-base streak to 19 consecutive games, dating back to April of last season.
He last earned the weekly honor on Feb. 19, 2023, after hitting four home runs in a four-game series at Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Brooks and the Rattlers open the home portion of the 2026 schedule on Friday at 6 p.m., against Oklahoma Christian.
