ODESSA, Texas — St. Mary's University senior student-athlete
Landri Withers said she would do whatever it took to make sure the Volleyball team snapped a six-match losing streak in Odessa, helping lift the Rattlers to their first Lone Star Conference victory with a four-set victory against UT Permian Basin, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23.
Withers, a senior from Stephenville, Texas, tied her career-high with 23 kills, hit an amazing .385 (23-3-52) for the afternoon, notched 11 digs for the 33rd double-double of her career, and collected 22 receptions without an error. She also added two service aces, two block assists, and an assist to move the team to 1-1 in league action.
Her 23 kills break the St. Mary's four-set record during the modern scoring era (2008-present), bettering the 22 by Karlie Ortega against the Falcons on Sept. 22, 2011.
Fellow senior
Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) topped the 30-dig milestone for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career, totaling 31. She added two assists and two aces.
Junior
Haleigh Wilk (Salado, Texas) tied her career-high with 24 assists, while freshman
Liz Salinas (Helotes, Texas) added 22, and senior

There were a total of 28 ties and 12 lead changes throughout the four sets, including seven ties each in the third and fourth sets.
