INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In the first of three regular season rankings, the St. Mary's University Volleyball team is one of 10 teams listed as under consideration in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) South Central Region, announced Wednesday afternoon. The initial NCAA rankings list teams under consideration in alphabetical order that are potential qualifiers for the NCAA Tournament.
St. Mary's is currently 12-11 overall, 9-4 in Lone Star Conference play and 11-7 against teams in the South Central Region. The Rattlers have won five straight matches and have four matches remaining in the regular season.
The 64-team NCAA Tournament will have eight teams selected from each of the eight Division II regions. The South Central Region comprises 18 teams from the Lone Star Conference and 15 teams from the RMAC.
The next NCAA Regional Rankings will be released on Wednesday, Nov. 12, with all 10 teams ranked in order, and the final regular-season rankings will be published on Nov. 19. The NCAA will announce the 64-team bracket on Monday, Nov. 24.
