Stancliff Named Director of Sports Performance

SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Department of Athletics and Executive Director Robert Coleman are delighted to announce the hiring of Hudson Stancliff as the Director of Sports Performance.

"We are very pleased to welcome Hudson to St. Mary's in this increased role and we look forward to his leadership in this very critical area of player development," Coleman said. "During our discussions, I was impressed with his organization, program planning, energy, ability to communicate effectively and genuine passion for his craft. He is thoughtful in his approach and pays great attention to detail. Being in our program for the past few years in a part-time capacity will allow him to hit the ground running.  He has worked closely and successfully with our Baseball and Softball programs, and I believe all our student-athletes will respond well to his style and demeanor as we prepare for the 2024-25 season."

In addition to being a part-time Sports Performance Specialist for St. Mary's since 2021, Stancliff has also been the owner and head coach of Intentional Patterns, an ONNIT Certified Academy in San Antonio, specializing in personal training, sports performance, strength & conditioning and specialty classes.

"First and foremost, I want to thank God for putting me in a position to be of service to St. Mary's University, and our student-athletes," Stancliff said. "I'd also like to thank my loving wife, and all my friends and family who have been so supportive throughout my journey. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and the trust placed in me to take on this position and uphold the values that define our amazing University. I am committed to cultivating an environment of success, discipline and resiliency both on and off the field/court for our student-athletes."

Stancliff is a 2014 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Sciences. He is CSCS, TSAC-F, Exos and PFPS certified and will take over his increased role with the University on May 1, 2024. He and his wife, Jalen, reside in San Antonio.
