St. Mary's University Athletics

Walt Essex was named to the Big State All-Conference First Team as a senior in 1971. He scored 1,456 points during his career (1968-71), the eighth-most during the NAIA era of men's basketball at St. Mary's. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.
