BIO:
No matter how her career is broken down, RONI (GARCIA) HOLMES ranks among the best to ever play for St. Mary’s Softball. Champion. All-American. Leader. Those are just some of the words that describe the former third baseman. Few have achieved what the slugger did during her four years in the Rattler gold and blue, earning All-American honors three times while anchoring the NCAA Division II national championship-winning team in 2002. A four-time All-Region selection, Holmes won three NCAA regional championships and four Heartland Conference titles as a member of the Rattlers. She is the school’s all-time RBI leader (179), and ranks No. 2 in home runs (38), No. 2 in total bases (452) and No. 3 in hits (279). She was also named the Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year in 2002 and the league’s Player of the Year in 2005.

POST-GRADUATION:
Holmes works at Beckwith Electronic Engineering Co. in San Antonio, where she is the Low Voltage Engineering Business Development Manager.

QUOTE:
“I will treasure for a lifetime the time I spent at St. Mary’s. I am so proud of the University, and I am thankful every day for the opportunity it has provided for me personally and professionally. Living in Cremer Hall with several other student-athletes, attending Oyster Bake, the softball game days, taking difficult classes that have leveraged my career in ways I never knew possible — all of these memories have flashed before me. All I can give is thanks to such a wonderful school and wonderful community that St. Mary’s University represents.”
