Dijkine Earns Honorable Mention Honors
DALLAS – Junior forward Mamady Dijkine made an immediate impact on the St. Mary's Men's Basketball team and the Lone Star Conference head coaches agreed, as he was named to the honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference Team on Wednesday.
Dijkine from Paris, France, led the Rattlers with 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, as well as 1.2 blocked shots. He was also second with 14 steals and shot a team-best 47.5 percent from the field.
Dijkine, a transfer from LSU Eunice, was one of only three Rattlers to play in all 12 games during the 2020-21 season, starting in 11. He collected five double-doubles during the season, scoring a career-best 23 and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds in the team's win over St. Edward's on Feb. 12.
